So Much Has Changed

Boxing day 2020 and two and a half years since my last blog entry. The world has changed in that time and so have my own personal circumstances. at the end of 2016 I finished my final IT contract and started working full time as a freelance sailing instructor. It really was a refreshing lifestyle change. Roll forward to September 2018 and the opportunity arose to work for Allabroad Sailing Academy in Gibraltar. I am still a freelance instructor, although I now work almost exclusively for Allabroad. With that has come a change of home, and I now live across the border in Spain. Having originally lived in a rented flat I bought my own house here and moved in last month. The lifstyle has changed even more!

Another big change in 2020 was the passing of my father, David Sermon in 23rd March. I now, as the eldest of his sons, find myself as the senior member of the family. I will be posting a full tribute in the "In Memoriam" section here.

2020 has been dominated by the effects of Covid 19. One impact is that I have not visited the UK since February. However in a strange way it has brought more contact with my UK friends through Zoom meetings and shared online events. It has also been good to get to know so many new people in Spain and Gibraltar.
